A Message from Our Principal

Mary Immaculate School(ICSE) Berhampore, Murshidabad was established in the year 1962 by Most Rev. Bishop Louis L.R. Morrow the father and founder of the institution of Sisters of Mary Immaculate. It is a private, unaided, minority institution. The aim of the institution is to impart a sound value based education by forming in the students habits of virtue, discipline, piety and self reliance during the years of their studies, thus enabling them to be dutiful citizens of our motherland.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change. So we encourage students to engage in activities that create productive citizens and leaders who can withstand any odd situations.

Education is a onetime investment capable of reaping long term economic benefits for any country. Unfortunately today’s education is affected by various barriers. There is a systemic error somewhere ….. Parents and schools are all part of this error. There is undue pressure, both from the family and the society too on today’s students. Everyone wants more and more to be first in the class and school. Children are made to be competing with each other. Parents want their children earning more, than learning more!!!!!

If the family does not provide a peaceful and loving atmosphere, the children cannot be expected to be good. We need to consciously avoid situations that would encourage our kids to take the short cuts to escape from failures. We need to teach them about the realities of life. Failure is part of Life. One cannot be always wining. We must make our kids realize that life is not a bed of roses… things might not happen the way they want is Always.

Let us recall the words of late president APJ Abdul Kalam ;-

If you fail, never give up …………… because

F.A.I.L means “First Attempt In Learning”

End is not the end ……….Infact

E.N.D means “Effort Never Dies”

If you get No as an answer, remember

No means “Next Opportunity”

So let’s be positive.

I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate and express my gratitude to all the previous principals, Sister teachers, Staff and non teaching Staff for the encouragement that you have extended to the students. The growth of the school would not have been possible without the committed effort of all of you.

Thank You
